Assigning a Task

One of Tactick’s core features is the ability to assign recurring tasks to people on your team. These assignments are the foundation for the accountability and analytics provided on the Tasks screen and Progress screen.

When you add a new task, it is assigned to you by default. You can assign a task to another person, to multiple people, or to everyone on your team – or can make the task unassigned.

Note: You can add a new member to your organization and assign them a task at the same time.

Note: To assign a task to others in organization you don't own, you need to have the proper permissions.

Assigning a task to one person

  1. Go the Design Work section of the Routines screen.
  2. Click on the routine for the task you want to assign.
  3. Click on the picture in the Who column for the task. This will open the task assignment popup.
  4. Click the checkbox next to the person you want to assign the task, then click on the checkbox next to your name to remove the task assignment from you.

  5. When you're all set, click the Save and Close button.

The Who column for the task will now show the profile picture for the person the task is assigned to.

Assigning a task to multiple people

  1. Go the Design Work section of the Routines screen.
  2. Click on the routine for the task you want to assign.
  3. Click on the picture in the Who column for the task. This will open the task assignment popup.
  4. Click the checkbox next to each person you want to assign the task, then click on the checkbox next to your name to remove the task assignment from you (if needed).

  5. When you're all set, click the Save and Close button.

The Who column for the task will now show the number of people the task is assigned to.

Note: Once you assign a task to 2+ people on your team, you can no longer change the start date for that task. This is because all assignees for a task must have the same frequency details.

Note: When you assign a task to multiple people, each assigned person gets their own occurrence of the task. For example, let’s say you have 5 team members and you want to assign everyone the task “Update Performance Report.” When you assign this task to everyone, each person will get their own “Update Performance Report” task.

For accountability and reporting purposes, each occurrence counts as its own task. So if the only task assigned in your organization for today was everyone’s “Update Performance Report” task, you would see 5 tasks assigned on the team (one assigned to each person) and the task status for each task occurrence.
